Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.84%

Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Plastic sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.84%.

The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Aurotek Corp (TW:6215), which rose 9.99% or 7.60 points to trade at 83.70 at the close. Meanwhile, KYE Systems Corp (TW:2365) added 9.93% or 4.20 points to end at 46.50 and Tai Twun Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3432) was up 9.84% or 1.55 points to 17.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which fell 9.99% or 34.50 points to trade at 311.00 at the close. Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW:1235) declined 9.95% or 10.20 points to end at 92.30 and Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) was down 9.90% or 3.50 points to 31.85.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Shares in Aurotek Corp (TW:6215) rose to all time highs; up 9.99% or 7.60 to 83.70. Shares in Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW:1435) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.90% or 3.50 to 31.85.

Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.43% or 0.30 to $69.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.37% or 0.27 to hit $72.83 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 4.41 to trade at $2,640.69 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD was up 0.18% to 32.69, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.13% to 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 107.52.
